If you want to stream to your Facebook feed or a Page as easily as possible, you can follow the instructions in Streaming to Facebook.

However, using the Facebook Live Producer & RTMP has the following benefits:

  • You can stream to a Group (in addition to your Feed or a Page).

  • You can start, stop, and restart the stream in Stage TEN without the livestream being disconnected on Facebook. This means you won't lose your viewers.

  • Facebook Live Producer provides many additional tools for managing your Facebook stream.

Going live with the Facebook Live Producer

Streaming with the Facebook Live Producer requires 3 high-level steps, each described in detail below. You can also refer to .

  1. Obtain a Stream key and Server URL from the Facebook Live Producer.

  2. Create a Facebook Live Producer Destination in the Stage TEN Pro Studio.

  3. Go live both in Stage TEN and in the Facebook Live Producer.

We recommend you create a Scheduled Facebook Live to test with (set the privacy to Only Me) before you schedule a real live event for your audience.

Obtaining a Stream Key and Server URL from the Facebook Live Producer

  1. Go to

  2. Under Choose where to post, select the Feed, Page, or Group where you want to go live.

  3. Click Go live, or if you'd prefer to set up a stream event for later, click Create event.

Tip: to set up a stream event for later, click Create event instead of Go live. Enter a date, time, select where to share to, privacy, live video title, description, select a thumbnail and a category. If you're sharing to a page, you can turn on crossposting, share to a page's groups, and audience settings. Once complete, click Schedule Live Video, and continue with the steps below.

  1. In the Stream setup page, ensure the video source is set to Streaming software.

  2. Open the Advanced Settings, and enable Persistent stream key.

  3. Note the Stream key and Server URL. You will need to copy/paste these in Stage TEN.

Tip: If you want the Facebook stream to remain live even if you stop your stream from Stage TEN, you need to disable the Allow encoder to end stream setting in Facebook. You can find this in the Facebook Live Producer under Settings > Stream.

Creating a Facebook Live Producer Destination in Stage TEN

Return to the Stage TEN Pro Studio.

  1. In the Pro Studio, open Settings (cog wheel) > Destinations > Facebook.

  2. Under Live Producer, click Add.

  1. Enter a name for this destination, and paste the Server URL and Stream Key you obtained above.

  2. Click Save.

Tip: You can add a Server URL and Stream Key from a different Facebook account here if you wish to stream to destinations from multiple facebook accounts at once.

The event will now appear in your list of Live Destinations in the Pro Studio.

Going Live in Stage TEN and the Facebook Live Producer

When you're ready to go live, start your stream in both Stage TEN and Facebook.

  1. Toggle on the Live Destination for your event in Stage TEN.

  2. Return to the Facebook Live Producer. After a few seconds you'll see your stream in the Waiting for live video preview.

  1. Start the Stream in the Facebook Live Producer.

    • If you scheduled your broadcast, and you are already sending your stream from Stage TEN at the time your stream is scheduled to start, it will start automatically at the scheduled time.

    • If you scheduled your broadcast, but you are late in sending the stream to Facebook, you will need to go to the Facebook Live Producer to start it manually.

Tip: Once you start previewing your broadcast you have 5 hours to go live.

Ending your Stream

  1. In the Facebook Live Producer, click End Live Video

  2. In the Pro Studio, toggle off the Live Destination
