You need to refresh? Or your computer just restarted itself? Or your Internet dropped? Don't worry.

When something goes wrong, Recovery Mode keeps your stream alive, and allows you to regain control without your participants needing to re-join. How recovery mode functions depends on whether:

  • You have one or more remote participants in the Studio

  • You are live to one or more outputs

When will Recovery Mode happen?

None are Live

If you do not have any remote participants and are not live to any outputs, the Studio will not enter Recovery Mode.

If you reload the Studio, the sequence will be the same as if you entered the Studio fresh.

1 or more remote

None are Live

If you have remote participants in the Studio but are not live to any outputs, the Studio will enter a limited Recovery Mode to help recover your participants. In this scenario, the Studio will remember the remote participants and during recovery their feeds will be brought into the Studio.

Local only

The Stream Will Become Paused

Immediately after a crash or reloading the Studio, the stream will become paused for all remote participants and they will see the following message on their screen:

The Studio will Enter Recovery Mode

Once you return to the Studio, you will see the following message indicating that the Studio is in Recovery Mode:

Select "RESUME SESSION" to return to the Studio and have the remote participant(s) automatically be brought back into the Feed Pool. You can then resume your interactions with the participants by using the pink Switch Button to update the Live Monitor. At this point, the Studio session will be recovered.

If you do not wish to recover your participants, select "START NEW SESSION" to open the Studio in a fresh, empty state.

No Remote Participants but One or More Active Outputs

If you not have any remote participants in the Studio, but you are live to at least one output, the Studio will enter Recovery Mode to ensure your live stream does not end and provide you with the ability to resume your stream.

The Stream Will Become Paused

In this scenario, Stage TEN will display a Technical Difficulties Card to your viewers while it waits for the stream to be recovered.

The Studio Will Enter Recovery Mode

Once you return to the Studio, you will see the following message indicating that the Studio is in Recovery Mode:

If the Studio operator is not able to return to the Studio due to computer, internet, or other issues, someone else can log into the same Stage TEN account that experienced the problem and recover the broadcast from another computer.

Select "RESUME SESSION" to return to the Studio in Recovery Mode. The stream will be in a paused state and the Live Monitor will display the Technical Difficulties Card:

To resume your stream, update the Live Monitor using the pink Switch Button and once you are ready to resume to your active outputs, click the "RESUME" button.

Remote Participants and One or More Active Outputs
