The Text Overlay Extension uses a technology called WebGL, which requires you to be using Chrome browser and have hardware acceleration enabled. If the Text Overlay Extension isn't available, you may need to enable hardware acceleration, as described below.
If you are not using Chrome, first switch to it.
If you are using Chrome, ensure that you have hardware acceleration enabled. To do so, follow the instructions below.
Open Chrome Settings by clicking the menu icon and then clicking on Settings.
Scroll close to the bottom and click System.
Find the 'Use graphics acceleration when available' setting. Toggle the switch to the On position and then click Relaunch button when it appears.
Tip: Make sure to save any work in progress before quitting Chrome. Chrome can reopen the tabs from before the relaunch, but may not save any of the data contained in those tabs.
