Add Feeds, Guests & Assets

Inviting others into your broadcast is a great way to make your show more interesting

Tip: Don't underestimate the importance of a decent mic. Yes, you want to use the best camera you have access to (whether that's a webcam, a mobile device or a Digital SLR). But no matter the picture quality, poor audio will make your stream feel cheap to your viewers.

Your scenes can include live feeds from cameras, guests joining via invite link from anywhere in the world, or assets like graphics or video clips.

Types of Feeds

You can connect many different types of cameras & feeds in Stage TEN to enhance the production quality of your show. The most commonly used feeds are:

  • Webcams: Webcams can already be a part of your computer or be an external source. Consumer webcams connect directly to your computer via USB and are recognized as a Video Source once plugged in.

  • Mobile Devices: You can use your phone as a participant feed.

  • Pro-cams: You can use DSLRs and other high-end cameras to give your show a professional look. For this you need an encoder, so your computer recognizes the camera as a webcam.

  • Virtual Cameras: Some applications generate a "Virtual Camera" on your computer. This behaves like a normal camera, but may not be directly connected to a physical camera. For example:

    • Snap Cam allows you to apply filters and virtual backgrounds to your camera, and outputs that as if it's another camera

    • OBS can send its stream output to a virtual camera

  • Audio Interfaces: External devices (sometimes called Sound Cards) that allow you to connect pro microphones, such as condenser mics that require phantom power.

Add a local cam feed

Local feeds come from your computer or a device that is physically connected to your computer.

  1. In the Pro Studio, click Add or Invite Feeds, then Add Local Cam.

  2. A default video source will be selected. You can also choose from your computer's Video Sources - cameras that are connected to your computer.

    • Some apps appear as "virtual cameras", such as Snap Cam, OBS, etc.

  3. A default audio source will be selected. You can also choose from your computer's Audio Sources such as built-in or connected microphones.

Invite a guest, or add a mobile feed

Once you open the studio, you can invite your participants to join your show. To do this you send them an invite link, which they use to join your show.

Tip: Invite Links can change if you close or refresh the Studio. To be safe, send participants a new link for each show.

You can get the invite link by clicking the "person" button in the top-right of the Feeds Panel. This will then bring up the Invite Participants screen with the url and a QR code.

Add Assets

Assets are media files like product images, video clips, custom overlays, or graphics. Using assets in your show can add a touch of polish 💅 that makes you look more professional.

To add assets, click on the + button in the Assets panel. Select the files from your computer to add them to your Media Library.
