Sharing Computer or Game Audio

To screenshare to Stage TEN with audio you will need to set up a virtual audio device first.

If you are trying to screenshare audio from a web page, share it as a Chrome tab. This allows you to easily pull the audio in that is playing on that tab.

If instead you need to share the audio from any other application on your computer, use the following instructions to create a virtual audio source and bring it into Stage TEN via OBS.

Create a Virtual Audio Device to enable Audio sharing

The instructions below assume you can create a virtual audio device. You can use software tools such as Loopback or VB-Cable to do this.

Installing VB-Cable Virtual Audio Device
  1. Visit and download the software

  1. Select where to save the VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device. We recommend saving the virtual cables files in your Program Files on your PC or Mac.

  1. Right click on 'VBCABLE_Setup_x64' and click 'Run as administrator'

  1. Click 'Install Driver'

  1. Click 'Install'

You should see a window pop up that says 'Installation Complete and Successful'

Use OBS to send a screenshare + audio feed to virtual devices

  1. Download and install .

  2. Open OBS Studios and create a new Scene.

    • Under Scenes click +

    • Enter a Scene name and click OK

  1. Add the window or game source in OBS:

Under Sources click +. Then click Display Capture.

Under Create new enter a name for your source and click OK.

Set any properties for the Screenshare and click OK.

  • If you only have 1 monitor you can just click "OK"

  • If you have multiple monitors select which one to capture in "Display" then click "OK". Your screen should now be showing on OBS

Under Sources click +, then click Game Capture. Name the Game Capture and click OK.

Select the mode to capture your game feed.

  • If you already have the game open you can select “Capture Specific Window”

Choose the window for the game you have open and click OK.

Your game should now appear on screen.

Next, we'll use OBS to send the display/game source's audio to the virtual audio device.

  1. Under Desktop Audio select the Cogwheel then click Advanced Audio Properties.

  1. Switch Audio Monitoring to Monitor Only (mute output) for all the audio sources you want to hear on stream. This will prevent you from hearing double audio once this feed is added in Stage TEN.

Tip: Desktop Audio will capture any sound coming from your computer. This could include a video playing, a notification, music, etc.

  1. Under Controls click Settings, then click Audio.

  1. Select CABLE Input as the Monitoring Device. Despite it's (perhaps misleading) name, this means you are outputting the audio to the input of the virtual device called CABLE.

    1. Under Advanced select CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) as the Monitoring Device

    2. At the bottom of the Settings menu click Apply then OK

  1. Under Controls click Start Virtual Camera

Add the Video and Audio Feeds in Stage TEN

  1. Open the Stage TEN Studio and click Add or Invite Feeds then click Share Your Screen.

  1. Select the Screen, Window or Chrome Tab you want to share and then click Share

  1. In the Feed settings, click the Audio Sources dropdown, and select CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable).

You should now see a green bar appear whenever audio is playing in the feed.

Important: To avoid audio looping/feedback, you may need to mute the Stage TEN Pro Studio tab by right clicking the Chrome tab and clicking Mute site. This applies if you are sharing your entire Desktop audio with OBS.
