The most common reasons for a camera, microphone, or screen share not appearing in STAGE TEN are listed below. Use these instructions to check that your system is configured correctly.
If your Stage TEN isn't detecting your camera, close any program that uses it such as Zoom, Skype, etc. Rebooting your computer before connecting can also help ensure these programs won’t compete for camera access.
The most common reason for a camera or microphone not showing up is incorrect Chrome permissions. You must provide permission for Stage TEN to access your camera and microphone.
To check permissions, do the following:
Log into the Stage TEN studio
Click the "camera" or "site" icon in the Chrome address bar (they bring up the same screen)
Ensure that both the Camera and Microphone radio button is selected
Click the "x" button in the top-right
In more recent versions of Mac OS, permissions for Chrome to access the camera, microphone, and screen (for screen sharing) need to be provided at the system level. To check your settings, perform the following steps. The images below may help guide you.
Select > System Preferences...
In the system preferences, select Privacy & Security
Select Camera and ensure the checkbox beside Chrome is selected
Select Microphone and ensure the checkbox beside Chrome is selected
Select Screen & System Audio Recording and ensure the checkbox beside Chrome is selected
Reload Stage TEN Studio in your Chrome browser
